Everest Helicopter Tour

Duration: 01 Day / 06 Days
Altitude: 5,242m.

"Everest Helicopter Tour - An elite adventure, this trip takes you to Khumbu Himal, the homeland of Nepal’s tough mountain tribe, the Sherpas. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience: go to the top of the world to see the Mount Everest through the window of a helicopter. There are many exciting trips to choose from which enables you to view distinct and stunning scenery from the comfort of a helicopter, high over the spectacular vistas of Himalayas ".

Experience the thrill of flying up into "The Roof of the World" in your private helicopter and look down upon the world's largest mountain range - The Himalayas. An unforgettable experience reserved for the privileged few. The scale is often hard to comprehend. To put in context - the largest peak outside of Asia stands at 6,962 metres (22,841 ft). The Himalayan system holds within it over 100 mountains that exceed 7,200 metres (23,600 ft) - 'the Eight-thousanders' including K2 and the most famous of them all - Mount Everest.

There is no better way to experience the sheer enormity of this natural phenomena than from the window of your helicopter as your expert pilot guides you through this natural wonder. This flight takes you from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu flying parallel to the Himalayan Range climbing steadily until you reach a height and location that provides views of Mt.Everest that can only be described as awe-inspiring. To look upon this mountain in person is to understand its position in the popular imagination. The highest in the world, standing at 8,848 metres (29,029ft) above sea level, no other mountain comes close to filling us with wonder and fascination.

The next stage of your adventure is to land at Tengboche which is situated at an altitude of 12,000 feet (3,780 m.) and is an important midway station for climbers attempting Everest. The village has no road network and can normally only be approached by trekking. Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay - an inhabitant of this village - were the first to reach the summit of Mt. Everest in 1953 and since then the village has held a special place in climbing folklore. Here, you will spend an hour exploring the village and its famous monastery. Tengboche also provides the ideal location for some breathtaking photographs. John Hunt, the leader of the famous 1953 expedition, perhaps describes the village best in his book 'The Ascent of Everest' :

"one of the most beautiful places in the world...it provides a grandstand beyond comparison for the finest mountain scenery that I have ever seen, whether in Himalaya or anywhere else".

During your return leg, you will be flying close to Mt. Langtang and Jugal Himal. On your approach back to the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted with the awesome aerial view of the entire Kathmandu Valley.

This unique experience quite literally takes you to the 'Top of the World'.
